WELCOME TO THE POOKAH'S Q & A PAGE

 Why do you make pottery?

I am, therefore I create. It is inherent in the human animal to create. Various sounds are organized to create music. Twenty-six symbols are grouped and sorted to create poetry. Shades of colored pigments are arranged to create a person's vision of the world.

I spent the majority of my adult life creating images in the virtual world of bits and bytes. Upon ending that stage of my life, I wanted to create using a solid, tangible material that I could manipulate by my own hand. The material I chose to express my visions is the essence of Mother Earth, clay.

The vessels I craft are empty and useless until another chooses to trade hard earned coin of the realm for them. When someone appreciates the aesthetics of the vessel and wants to display it in their home, I am pleased. However, not successful. If I can stimulate the creative spirit in that person to fill the vessel with flowers to create a floral arrangement, to fill the vessel with foodstuff to create an epicurean delight for friends, to fill the vessel with sand and pebbles to make a miniature Zen garden. Then, I consider myself a success.

What's up with the warthog logo?
People do not choose the Pookah. The Pookah chooses the person depending on the needs of that specific person. I would have rather had a six foot white rabbit. I got a warthog and that's cool.
